Renewable energy sources are becoming an important component of the power system structure. Nevertheless their integration is a challenging task. WG C6.15 has investigated electric energy storage system aiming to evaluate different storage technologies, their commercial backgrounds and the integration and support of power networks with a high penetration of renewable based generation (RES).
