Integral Decision Process for Substation Equipment Replacement

The TB describes an integral decision process for asset replacement purposes, as applied to substations. Instead of focusing solely on asset condition, a top-down approach is adopted by incorporating general business drivers. Both equipment ageing and changing system operating conditions are considered. The brochure provides examples of relevant experience and lessons learned from the field and can serve as an mplementation guideline for the asset manager when defining the process dealing with equipment replacements.
