Condition assessment of power transformers

Transformer assessment indices can be developed to allow asset managers to rank transformers in their fleet.  A scoring matrix should be used to ensure that scoring of each failure mode of each transformer is consistent. The scoring system used to calculate the transformer’s score, should provide an indication of the most appropriate action and the time when the action will be required.
