Development of an Ultrasonic Testing Robot for Retaining Rings in Turbine Generators
This paper describes the development and evaluation of an ultrasonic inspection robot and a dry couplant for automated inspection of retaining rings in turbine generators without rotor disassembly. Retaining rings are critical components subjected to high mechanical stress and are susceptible to Stress Corrosion Cracking (SCC), making early crack detection essential for maintaining generator reliability and safety.
