Improved arc containment of a bushing turret of UHV AC Transformers under a high-energy internal arcing fault
Ultra-high voltage (UHV) transformers are core equipment of power grids. Low-impedance faults such as internal arcing discharges pose a severe threat to the structural integrity of the equipment and the stability of power grids. Bushing turret structures are prone to limiting the transmission of arc-excited pressure shocks and pressure release, and their bolted connections and welded joints are also prone to failure during faults due to geometric and material properties. It is imperative to optimize the structure to enhance arc containment performance.
