As part of the ongoing effort to improve the resilience and operational flexibility of the electrical grid integrating as best as possible the high-voltage direct current (HVDC), significant advancements are being pursued in both joint technology and cable stress endurance. This work is focused on HVDC MIND (Mass-Impregnated Non-Draining) cable performance under more frequent slow power reversals and the long-term aging effects caused by such operating conditions.
