First results from curvature sensor installed in dynamic cable on floating platform
Dynamic cables connected to floating platforms undergo repeated bending variations during their lifetime, imposed by platform movement, waves and currents. These bending variations lead to stress variations in the internal components of the cable, which could lead to fatigue failure if the loads over time are too large.
