Development of AR-Based Inspection Technology for Transmission Line Construction

In transmission line construction, sag measurement and compression sleeve inspection are critical for quality and safety. Conventional methods require multiple workers at high altitudes in awkward postures, creating heavy workloads and safety risks. They also depend on skilled workers’ experience, limiting efficiency and standardization. This study proposes a new inspection method using smartphones, commercial fixtures, and Augmented Reality (AR).
