Circular Economy Applied to Power Grid Rerouting Projects: Maximizing Financial and Environmental Value at ISA INTERCOLOMBIA

This article presents the results of implementing a circular economy model for managing reroutes in transmission lines, in response to increasing climate risks in Colombia. The strategy focuses on reusing existing steel towers, replacing the traditional approach of procuring new materials. Through technical evaluation, redesign, and structural integrity verification of dismantled towers, the model demonstrated benefits in real-world application cases. The quantified results show significant impacts: a 60% reduction in the acquisition of new towers, generating economic savings of 130,000 USD and avoiding the emission of 175 metric tons of
