Applying Knowledge Management to Accelerate the Development of Protection, Automation, Measurement, and Monitoring Devices

This paper describes the development and application of a knowledge management system in the development of modern protection, automation, measurement, and monitoring devices at the company with which the authors are affiliated. Continuous research and development (R&D), engineering, participation in pilot projects, technical support for the system, and training of the customer’s personnel support the knowledge personalization strategy. The company's experts participate in the development of standards and other regulatory documents, participate in working groups at the Russian National Committee of CIGRE and IEC, and are engaged in scientific and educational activities.
