Projects for Digital Flexibilities to Optimize the Existing and Future Physical Infrastructure in Japan and France
Tomorrow’s carbon neutral world will be based on electrification and carbon-free electricity supply. Especially in Japan and France, that electricity would be generated by both nuclear and renewable energy. To integrate all renewable energy capacities, such as photovoltaics (PV) and wind power, into the grid in line with each country's goals, there are big challenges such as grid congestion. While the congestion only starts to appear in both countries, new infrastructure will need to be built in the future to prevent future congestion especially in local grids. It is costly and time-consuming, and may also increase the cost to society. Thus, both countries developed solutions—Japan’s Connect & Manage System and France’s New Adaptative Zonal Automaton
