From Consumers to Prosumers: A Techno-Economic Analysis of Residential PV-BESS Deployment in Sweden

The transition from passive electricity consumers to active prosumers is accelerating, driven by rising and volatile electricity prices, increased deployment of distributed energy resources, and a growing demand for energy independence. Residential photovoltaic (PV) systems combined with battery energy storage systems (BESS) are key enablers of this transition.
