Guideline for Numerical Electromagnetic Analysis Method and its Application to Surge Phenomena

This TB describes the application limit and problem of a circuittheory based approach, EMTP in particular. The necessity of a numerical electromagnetic analysis has become clear for non-TEM mode phenomenon. Existing numerical electromagnetic analysis methods have been surveyed and the basic theories have been introduced with several examples. At the end of the TB, a non-exhaustive list of available software tools has been described.
