Influence Of Shunt Capacitor Banks On Circuit Breaker Fault Interruption Duties
WG A3.26 has studied the influence of a source side capacitor bank on the Transient Recovery Voltage (TRV) of a circuit breaker interrupting a fault. EMTP simulations of different network configurations have been performed. Mitigation means are discussed to limit the possible high voltage transients the network.
