ELECTRICAL PROPERTIES OF FIELD GRADING MATERIAL COMPOUNDED SILICONE RUBBER
Micro and nano-material compounded polymers have been widely researched and adopted by industry. These additives improve significantly the mechanical, electrical, thermal performances of the polymer compound. It has been recently demonstrated that application of non-linear resistive grading coating material in outdoor polymeric insulators can result in improved electric field distribution around the high stress regions. In this paper, microvaristor material in compounded silicone rubber is investigated with the view to application for redistributing highly non-uniform electric field in outdoor HV insulation systems.
