Testing DC extruded cable systems for power transmission up to 250 kV (This TB has been replaced by TB 496)

Tests apply to the complete HVDC cable system as installed and as intended to function. Wherever possible the tests have been based on existing recommendations, standards and practices. New tests have however been introduced where required by considerations specific to the new technology. New technology may involve the use of many different materials such as thermoplastic or cross linked polymers and differing manufacturing processes. Tests are largely functional and not specific to one material or manufacturing process.
