Radiation ageing of polymeric insulating materials and relevant testing

The TB provides a short history of research work on the degradation of polymeric insulating materials under high temperature and radiation conditons from the 1950's to the present. Experimental data and mathematical models are presented to describe the degradation due to thermal and radiation degradation. Test standards for cables and wires used in nulcear power plants under radiation conditions are reviewed.
