Guidelines for the evaluation of the dielectric strength of external insulation.
This Guideline deals with the dielectric strength of external insulation, namely air gaps and insulators, with special reference to transient overvoltages. The aim is to illustrate the general trends in dielectric strength as a function of the most important influencing parameters and to give methods and criteria for its evaluation.
