Sustainability of overhead line conductors and fittings – Conductor condition assessment and life extension Volume 1: State of the art

This Technical Brochure (Volume 1) provides the state of the art in conductor sustainability with respect to conventional conductors (see “type 0” in TB 695 experience with the mechanical performance of non-conventional conductors, 2017). Conductor ageing mechanisms (Section 1), ageing-related tests, diagnostic sensors, tools and laboratory or field monitoring (Section 2) and current asset management practices given by results from a questionnaire (Section 3) are detailed in it. Volume 2 will provide technical management recommendations for the use of overhead line assets.
