Guidelines for testing of thyristor valves for static var compensators.

The application of static var compensators using thyristor valves in power transmission systems has been rapidly increasing in the past decade. Nevertheless there is no international standard for testing of thyristor valves for SVC. The scope of the work was limited to SVCs for power transmission systems. SVC for industrial applications (e.g. flicker control, control of voltage fluctuations caused by motor starting) are not in the scope.
