Development of guidelines and HIL simulation on the control and protection scheme for multivendor multi-terminal HVDC systems
When constructing a multi-terminal HVDC (MT-HVDC) system with multiple vendors, it is essential to develop technologies that ensure multivendor interoperability. To establish these technologies, a four-year project in Japan titled “Research and Development of a Multi-purpose and Multi-terminal High Voltage Direct Current Transmission System” was undertaken under the leadership of a national research and development corporation starting in 2020. As part of this project, guidelines for control and protection schemes of multivendor MT-HVDC systems were developed, and verification was conducted using Controller Hardware-In-the-Loop
