The installed base of HVDC converter stations is rapidly increasing across the globe. This drives an increasing demand to test and evaluate HVDC Control and Protection (C&P) systems throughout their entire lifecycle, much of which can be done with Non-Real Time Software-inthe-Loop (NRT-SIL) based testing. A representation of the HVDC C&P system, called replica, connected to a real-time simulator is also often used as a complementary solution, providing
