Lessons Learned About Transient Behaviours of Inverter-Based Resources and Identification of Best Practices for Interconnection Line Protections
Incentives to decarbonize existing electrical power networks have boosted the application of renewable and clean Inverter-Based Resources (IBRs). As a consequence, control strategies used in inverters that interface IBRs with power grids have increasingly influenced the fault response of electrical networks, culminating in system fault transient responses that directly affect the performance of protection schemes.
