The Importance of Knowledge in Disturbance Analysis and Fault Location Techniques for the Development of Protection Teams
This paper addresses the importance of the technical knowledge required for protection teams in the electrical sector, focusing on disturbance analysis. It highlights the need for teams trained to identify and resolve faults, using standardized methods and historical data to improve system reliability. Disturbance analysis techniques are presented, including the use of oscillography, which can be analysed in time and phasor domains, allowing the identification of fault characteristics. In addition, it is discussed that statistical data helps to elucidate the possible causes that originated the disturbances.
