Submarine cables and marine biodiversity: Feedback on implementing avoidance and minimization measures as well as monitoring environmental impacts
Like any human activity, the installation of submarine cables generates pressures that are likely to have an impact on the environment. From the project planning stage onwards and in accordance with regulations, numerous measures are taken in order to avoid, minimize, sometimes compensate, and monitor possible environmental impacts.
