ROCOF incident study and stability enhancement by grid-forming technology in Danish power system
In 2024, a power system incident in the Western Danish grid (DK1) caused by a loss of an exporting HVDC link induced local high rate of change of frequency (ROCOF) issues in the transmission grid. The incident resulted in several hundred-megawatt generation loss, indicating that the Danish system needs additional inertia for stabilizing the grid.
