Best Practices and Opportunities for the Electrical Integration of CIGRE RIAC Countries
The energy transition has become a top priority for the countries of the Ibero-American Region of CIGRE (RIAC), driven by the urgent need to address climate change and move toward more sustainable, resilient, and economically efficient power systems. While most RIAC countries have made concrete commitments to renewable energy adoption, they continue to face common implementation challenges. These include the variability of renewable generation, limitations in existing grid infrastructure, and regulatory frameworks that are often misaligned with the needs of a modern and interconnected power system.
