Governance and Institutional Design in Chile's Electricity Sector: Addressing Blackout Challenges

This paper examines the institutional design and governance of Chile’s electricity sector in the aftermath of the nationwide blackout of February 2025. Beyond the technical causes of the event, the blackout revealed structural gaps in the roles and accountability frameworks of the main institutions involved in the safe and continuous operation of Chile’s National Electricity
