Investigation of the Influence of Embedded VSC-HVDC Transmission on Power System Stability
This paper quantifies the impact of an embedded VSCHVDC link on power system stability by computing the increase in maximum transfer capability of a long corridor subjected to a permanent fault in the middle of one of the interconnecting AC lines. The study is performed on a simple radial system as a number of positive-sequence RMS simulations using the DIgSILENT PowerFactory software and an implementation of a generic VSC-HVDC controller working in dq-reference frame.
