Establishment of 1200kv national test station in India

and hydro generation capacities are being added in resource rich regions at the north, east and north eastern parts of India. High capacity long distance transmission line network becomes essential for power transfer to remotely situated load centres. Transmission voltage levels up to 800 kV AC and ± 800 kV HVDC have been established in the country and 1200kV AC would be a prospective power transmission voltage for future.
