Possible approach of tensile strength calculation in conductors considering strain measurement of tower legs of OHLS

Continuous measurement of strain in legs of tower in overhead power line performed in the recent years shows a correlation between weather conditions, temperature of air and temperature of conductor and by that with changes of conductor length, sag and tensile force. A new study has been suggested based on the proposal of measurements of strain in the tower's legs. A model for monitoring the changes in strain of power line tower's legs with regard to changes in sag was developed on the basis of this study. The boundary conditions are obtained by experimental measurement of strain in legs.
