Digital Transformation in Substations Using Mesh Networks: Telecommunications Infrastructure for the Advanced Monitoring Era
The digitalization of high-voltage electrical substations (110 kV, 230 kV, and 500 kV) has become a strategic pillar for modernizing transmission and distribution systems, aligned with the efficiency, reliability, and sustainability objectives defined in the ISA 2030 strategy. This work addresses the implementation of an industrial-grade wireless Mesh connectivity infrastructure at the pilot high-voltage substation to overcome challenges inherent to hostile electromagnetic (EMC) environments.
