How to Complete a Substation Automation System with an IEC 61850 Process Bus

The standard IEC 61850 for Communication networks and systems in substations [1] was accepted quickly. Today specifications of Substation Automation (SA) Systems request nearly exclusively IEC 61850 and about 3000 systems are in operation worldwide. The experience with IEC 61850 and the demand for xtending it's application range called for a second edition to be issued for 2009-2011 [2] .
