Aspects for the Application of Composite Insulators to High Voltage (=72kV) Apparatus

This TB considers the influence of active internal parts such as contacts and conductors on the design and testing of polymeric insulators. The influence of internal parts on the external electric field, long and short term electrical performance, thermal, mechanical and chemical interactions are considered. Recommendations are made regarding standardisation of these aspects. Environmental and economic aspects are also addressed.
