Working Safely while Supported on Aged Overhead Conductors

In 2008 WG B2.33 issued a questionnaire intending to canvass the industry to understand several aspects of cart use on older overhead HV lines as related to safety. The TB identifies the factors that affect the structural integrity of the aged conductor systems and therefore, the risks associated with the use of carts on aged conductors. Guidelines are given for developing criteria or rules for use of carts, for inspection and assessment of safe conditions as well as alternative methods for dealing with presumed or known unsafe conditions.
