Test regimes for HV and EHV cable connectors

The current international standard for testing cable connectors, IEC 61238-1-3 applies to cable systems up to 30 kV and 1200 mm². There is no international standard for testing connectors for high voltage (HV) and extra high voltage (EHV) cables. Much larger cable sizes, up to and above 2500 mm², are often used in these systems. The WG recommends test regimes for HV and EHV cable connectors. These test regimes are recommended as development tests at this point of time. A further review may be appropriate when data for the new test regime are available.
